“One of the qualities of the creative person, young or old, is their ability to move freely between the world of facts and reason, and the vast realms of the mind that lie just below the surface of consciousness.” – E. Paul Torrance
How well developed is your imagination? Do you know how to stimulate your children’s imagination?
I read a report a few months ago that revealed our children are being kept too busy with activities they don’t have a chance to develop their imagination.
Have you ever seen a child receive a gift and end up playing with the box it came in more than the gift that was in the box? That is a budding imagination and should be encouraged.
There are specific games that have been created just to encourage the development of a child’s imagination.
Here are some links for great crafts that will stimulate your children’s imaginations:
Bastille Day (France)
Chanukah (first night)
Chinese New Year- Year of the Rabbit
Cinco de Mayo
Dia de los Muertos (Mexico – Day of the Dead)
Guadalupe Day (Mexico)
Independence Day (U.S.)
Islamic New Year (at sundown)
Labor Day U.S. / Labour Day Canada
